Manage an international team of experts in a growing business and segment in Grundfos. Water and water utility is an important agenda worldwide, and you have the opportunity to make a real difference - both internally to the Grundfos business but also across the globe, providing water utility solutions. And you get to do so with top-of-the-line experts from all over the world, using your industry knowledge and great management skills. We are the Global Water Utility department (GWU), consisting of approximately 25 colleagues, dealing with complex sales, mainly project sales and global account management. We have stakeholders worldwide and operate closely with our local sales companies. You will manage our solution team of 10 application specialists handling mainly the technical part of our solutions. You and most of your colleagues are based in Brøndby, Denmark. You will refer to Group Vice President, Henrik Sonesson. “The department is a spider web of colleagues located all over the world and consists of 15 different nationalities. We are a mix of sales people and specialists, which totals an interesting and dynamic mix of personalities. As you will also be part of our Water Utility management team, you will not be short of sparring and input” Henrik says. What is the job about? ”Basically, you become the head of a group of technical specialists who love working in depth in their field of expertise. They receive many support requests and projects to participate in, so they really need you to create an overview and prioritise their tasks. And as they think in technical terms, they also need you to add the commercial flavour to their solutions so we end up with some great solutions and commercial offers,” Henrik explains. Thus, your job will be to assume the overall responsibility for managing, coordinating and administering support requests on all selected proposals. This entails developing the pre-bid stages of definition, planning, solution development, procurement, construction and handover, including risk assessment. Moreover, you have to interpret and clarify contractual, commercial and technical terms and conditions with relevant stakeholders. Part of your job is also to develop project cost build up and modelling of whole life cost. You also manage all sub-suppliers and sub-contractors with supply agreements together with group purchase. As you do so, you also manage, develop and maintain your team, furthering teamwork as well as maintaining existing and introducing new procedures to improve efficiency. Your job will take you travelling up to 20 days per year. What do you need to apply? You have a background within business or engineering combined with working knowledge of water utility (treatment processes and pump systems) and some management experience. Furthermore, you have experience in handling contracts and commercial offers. You are familiar with the Microsoft and Notes Packages, and you have knowledge of SAP CRM / BW /PS. You speak and write English fluently. “On a personal level, you take responsibility for creating the much-needed overview. You do not need to be a technical expert. Instead, you are the one to prioritise and add the commercial twist that sells our solutions. Finally, you need to be outgoing because you will be in contact with many people - often at the same time,” Henrik finishes.
