We are looking for a mechanical engineer who will be tasked with maintaining some of the most important components on our Star Cool refrigeration machine. We Offer Maersk Container Industry (MCI) is the world’s second-largest producer of marine refrigeration containers with about 7,000 employees worldwide. MCI is growing because of our uniquie R&D and service setup, which allows us to develop solutions for shipping customers just about as fast as key trends emerge in global trade. We are looking for a mechanical engineer who will be tasked with maintaining some of the most important components on our Star Cool refrigeration machine. MCI is a part of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, but our customer base is not only Maersk Line. We are in a tough global competition, yet Star Cool is so far a preferred reefer machine, according to independent customer tests. We simply want to keep it that way. MCI is located in Tinglev in Southern Denmark. You will be in close proximity to cities like Sønderborg, Kolding and Flensburg. We are present locally, but act globally. At MCI Tinglev, we have an informal tone amongst ourselves. We work hard, we are aware of our contribution to global trade, and we still have a lot of fun. Key Responsibilities You will become our in-house specialist on these components, and you are expected to be a leader when it comes to improving quality, performance and cost cutting. At MCI, innovation is a never-ending process, and you will become part of a team of engineers whose task it is to maintain and develop the positive track record of our Star Cool reefer machine. To perform well, you must have an analytical and structured approach. The job requires you to travel 20-30 days each year in order to provide superior service to customers and users. You will also cooperate with, and be inspired by, your colleagues at purchasing, quality/service and MCI’s factories in China and Chile. Prior knowledge from the reefer business is not a prerequisite, but an advantage. You will have the overall technical responsibility for cooling components like compressors, fans, valves, evaporators and condensers. Who we are looking for You are a Mechanical- or marine engineer with a minimum experience of five years, preferably from an international B2B production enterprise. You are a “go-getter” who operates comfortably with “freedom under responsibility”. You also possess an appropriate amount of humility because you will find your new colleagues to be very highly qualified. Still, with a structured methodology, you are the one to identify tasks and steer the work process toward solutions within clearly defined deadlines. At no point may MCI’s quality be compromised.
