You will especially focus on the early phases of new drug/device combination projects where you are the one to define, develop and present device strategies and solutions. You will do it surrounded by skilled and dedicated colleagues in an environment characterised by trust, helpfulness and respect.

Early stage development from a device perspective

As Mechanical Lead your primary focus is to find out what kind of devices are needed for different drugs in the early stages of the projects – and which suppliers are right for the solutions at hand. You will:

• Define device strategies in the early phase of drug / device combination product
• Identify patient needs in close collaboration with other LEO functions
• Design of Experiments and work with the statistical data from the experiments
• Align solutions and strategies across the LEO organisation
• Identify solutions and supplier capabilities available on the market
• Handle external contact with potential suppliers 
• Contribute to the further development of our overall development model

In many of your assignments, you will break new land as the first pioneer in LEO Pharma working with the particular challenge. As such, you will have to find the right way forward yourself. E.g. whom do you need to bring in to ensure that we take all relevant aspects into account when developing new high volume production devices under strict authority regulations?

Medical device experience and organisational understanding related to R&D projects

You have an education as Mechanical Engineer or similar backed by experience from working with medical devices. This has provided you with a good understanding of design control and risk management in a high volume production set up. Additionally, you have a good understanding of complex multi-site organisations included the ability to bring the right people together at the right time.

To succeed, you must be able to drive things forward independently based on dialogue and collaboration with multiple people from very different parts of the business, e.g. drug formulation experts and commercial experts. Additionally you must have a structured problem solving approach and have your project management tools in place.

Injection devices – your new team

You will join 9 skilled and highly motivated colleagues in Injection Devices based at LEO Pharma’s HQ in Ballerup. Our responsibility covers product solutions across medical devices, drug-device combination products and device constituent parts from early ideation until transfer to commercial manufacturers. The ambition is to grow as LEO Pharma is developing and expanding the presence in the injectable biologics area. We also support the long marketed and well-established product against thrombosis.
