Clinical professor in Dermatology combined with consultant in Dermatology A combined position as clinical professor of dermatology and as consultant in dermatology is vacant at the Research Unit of Dermatovenerology, Department of Clinical Research , Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, and at the Department of Dermatology , Odense University Hospital, respectively. The posts are considered as one entity. The vacant position is a combined post as professor and consultant. The time is allocated with 50 % of a full time position to clinical (consultant) and 50% of a full time position to university (professor) duties. Clinical position As a consultant, the applicant will employed as consultant with special responsibilities (i.e. specialeansvarlig overlæge). Obligations The consultants obligations will primarily be in the field of dermatology and/or allergology depending on qualifications. Reference Regarding clinical matters, economical issues and management the consultant refers to the Chief Physician and Head Nurse. University position The position as professor is affiliated to the Research Unit of Dermato-­Venerology and Allergy. Employment as professor requires successful evaluation by an expert panel, as stipulated in § 4 stk. 3 in Bekendtgørelse af 21. februar 2008 om ansættelse af videnskabeligt personale ved universiteter. Obligations Research The professor is expected to step in as Head of Research, to increase the research activity and to expand collaboration with other researchers at OUH, at SDU and abroad. The professor should participate in further scientific development of the field both nationally and internationally. Also, profiling the field in the public eye will be an important task. Finally, the professor is expected to mentor post-­docs, PhD-­students and pre-­graduate students. Research is expected to take up 50% of the university time. Teaching The professor is obliged to teach at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Teaching is expected to take up 40% of the university time. Planning The Head of Research is responsible for planning the teaching within the department; however, the professor is expected to plan his/her own teaching. Other obligations The applicant is expected to perform public duties, i.e. to chair committees, boards etc. Management and administration The professor is expected to: •Perform evaluations at the Faulty of Health Sciences •Participate in and/or chair committees etc. at the Faulty of Health Sciences and other universities. Management and administration are expected to comprise 10% of the university time.
