- Research Scientist - Denmark - Måløv We are looking for a highly talented and driven scientist with solid experience in ADME/absorption biology to join a dynamic team in the Discovery ADME department of Novo Nordisk’s Global Research Unit. At Global Research we specialise in the discovery of biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes. We also discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for haemophilia and growth disorders and explore novel treatments for obesity and – longer term – microvascular complications of diabetes. Consisting of approximately 1500 highly qualified scientists, postdocs, and technicians, Global Research conducts its world-class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing, and Seattle. About the department The Discovery ADME department is an area within Global Research responsible for bioanalysis, metabolism, absorption and proteomics-based studies in the early discovery phase of our research projects. You will join a department of highly-skilled scientists, laboratory technicians, postdocs and PhD students responsible for the development of novel and improved treatments for diabetes and related disease states. The job You will be part of a highly dedicated team, in which everyone shares the mutual aspiration to further improve the lives of millions of people requiring chronic care. You will actively participate in multidisciplinary project groups and will provide in vitro and ex vivo experimental support within the field of absorption biology and related ADME disciplines. You will be responsible for supervising one or more technicians on a daily basis and will work closely with other scientists within the department and cross-functionally. Qualifications You hold a PhD degree in biology, pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent and have solid hands-on experience within drug absorption in particular relating to in vitro, ex vivo or in situ absorption models (e.g. cellular systems, tissue models or perfusion models). Knowledge and experience of other ADME-related assays (e.g., plasma protein binding) is considered an advantage. Experience with various imaging techniques (e.g. confocal microscopy) and isolation and cultivation of primary cultures is deemed beneficial. Handling of peptides and proteins in various in vitro, ex vivo and/or in situ absorption models is an advantage but not a requirement. On a personal level, you are flexible, ambitious, focused on results and thrive in a dynamic research environment. It is pivotal for your success in the position to demonstrate a flair for- and interest in novel experimental methods and technologies and have an innovative mind-set. Furthermore, you should have an outreaching personality with strong interpersonal networking capabilities. Ideally, in previous positions you have worked independently with one or more technicians as direct referrals and you should be able to communicate complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency both orally and in writing and exhibit a strong collaborative mind-set.
