- Research Scientist - Denmark - Måløv Are you interested in working in an international and challenging research environment, where we are actively working on identifying the next generation therapeutic options that will change the life of patients with haemophilia? Then you may be the research scientist we are looking for to fill a 12 month temporary position as haemophilia bioassay scientist in Global Research located in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen Area, Denmark About the department At Novo Nordisk you will work in the Department of Haemophilia Research Bioanalysis, a part of Global Research. The department consists of 14 highly skilled scientists and laboratory technicians that support the discovery and development of new innovative biopharmaceuticals for treatment of haemophilia. The department´s main responsibilities are development and qualification of coagulation assays. These assays are used to evaluate the in vitro potency of novel drug candidates and for bioanalysis of plasma samples from animals dosed with the drug candidate. The job We offer you an exciting and challenging job in a scientific department, as well as in cross-functional projects teams, where ambitious scientific goals require contributions from many highly specialised colleagues. As an assay scientist your main responsibility will be to deliver high quality and timely analytical results and documentation to the projects teams. You will establish, improve, qualify and apply functional plasma based analyses such as chromogenic assays or clot assays for potency estimation or for post-infusion monitoring of novel drug candidates. In addition, you may work with global haemostasis assays e.g. thrombin generation assays in plasma. You will perform the laboratory work yourself in close collaboration with the skilled technical staff in the department. Qualifications Professionally, you hold a PhD degree and have experience with development and qualification of functional biological assays. The preferred candidate has a good understanding of haemostasis, experience with clinical coagulation assays and with bioassays for potency estimation. Pharmaceutical industry experience with early drug development is also an advantage. You have a strong analytical mind-set, and your thoroughness and curiosity makes you an excellent assay scientist. You are responsible and persistent, and you are able to ensure progress of many tasks at a time. Good communication skills and team working ability are essential. You must be a self-starter and be willing to engage cross functionally and be strongly motivated to explore new ideas and methods.
