The Carlsberg Laboratory is looking for a Senior Research Scientist with a strong knowledge within plant biochemistry with special focus on bioactive plant natural products, flavors and aroma compounds and/or proteins that may used as new ingredients and nutrients in barley-based and other beverages. The Senior Research Scientist is going to Head the Ingredients and Nutrients Group at the Carlsberg Laboratory. As Senior Research Scientist you will be involved with and/or responsible for: •Designing and guiding projects within the Ingredients and Nutrients Group at the Carlsberg Laboratory based on a strong background in plant science •Obtaining external funding in open collaboration e.g. with universities to further advance the research projects •Guiding and supervising the implementation of the appropriate technology platforms •Participating in design of the research projects of MSc and PhD students and post-doctoral fellows and being available as a mentor The candidate must be fluent in English. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and international research environment and guide basic and applied research within the focus areas. Personal Qualifications: •A PhD within plant biochemistry or related topics with over 3 years of post-doc experience and with a strong track-record of productivity as documented e.g. by publications in peer-reviewed journals or by patenting •Knowledge and hands-on experience in biochemical, cellular, molecular or genetic analyses of bioactive plant natural products, flavors and aroma compounds and/or proteins including the use of omics platforms. •Experience in project management, ability to lead by example, excellent oral and written communication skills, well organized, engaged, efficient and highly self-motivated, and with an ability to contribute to the creation of a positive social atmosphere at your work place •Confident to work in a team but also individually and independently and to take the full ownership of your tasks in a responsible and engaged manner.
