The DK Subsurface department in DONG E&P is looking for a Risk Modelling Specialist, who can be the super user in our software to characterize oil and gas assets and opportunities. The DK Subsurface department provides services to the Denmark, Norway, UK and Exploration Business Units. The DK Subsurface Department has two main areas of responsibility. Firstly, all non-exploration related subsurface evaluations within E&P Denmark. Work is generally undertaken in integrated, multi-disciplinary teams and includes evaluation of new business opportunities, near-field opportunities, appraisal planning, field development planning, unitisations and production operations for Danish Assets. Secondly, provide corporate support on subsurface evaluations within all DONG E&P Business Units. This includes support on technical specialties, acting as "Body shop", provision of peers for official Peer Reviews, undertaking larger integrated studies, and support of Business Development projects across all Business Units. You will be based at our office in Gentofte. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility We are transitioning into a fully-risked asset and opportunity planning with modern simulation software that integrates subsurface and surface uncertainties, as well as general business risks, in support of decision making for E&P. We use PetroVR program suite for business simulation of assets, opportunities, as well as for entire E&P network from sub-surface to surface to point of sale. The simulation, featuring a discrete event simulator, helps identifying system and scheduling constraints, ranking of risks and uncertainties, pinpoint most important value drivers, allows easy comparison of scenarios, and - very importantly - visualize the full range of outcomes under a set of boundary conditions and decisions. The Risk Modelling Specialist will be the overarching resource within DK Subsurface that ensures consistency and quality of the PetroVR models in the DK Asset. He/she will also act as a focal point for the various Asset Modellers, and be responsible for all practical details regarding framing sessions, modelling, interfaces with relevant corporate functions, meetings etc. Furthermore your key duties will include: • Be the super user for the PetroVR software in the DK Asset / DK Subsurface • Assist individual Asset Modellers in building and maintaining models • Build models across entire DK Business Unit as well as country models • Interface with new corporate group on Risk Management, and be part of the Risk Modelling network • Collaborate closely with other Risk & Portfolio specialists in the DK Asset • Support the Strategy, Planning and Branding function in DK Asset Your Profile You hold an academic degree preferably at Master’s level or higher in a Geoscience or Engineering discipline and have a good understanding of the technical aspects of the upstream E&P business. Moreover, the following competences and professional experience are considered important: • Strong mathematical and statistical background • Strong analytical skills • Experience with probabilistic estimation techniques and Monte Carlo simulation • Sense of detail, and a desire to optimize and find "smart" solutions • Enjoy working with numbers and data bases • Comfortable with IT, and the use of integrations modern software packages • Technical background in engineering in E&P • Must enjoy a high degree of technical and personal integrity • Must have a good business acumen • Fluent command of the English language As a person you have good interpersonal skills, including very good understanding of people and people drivers.
