DNV GL Denmark’s section for verification of materials and components (VMC) is part of department ‘Oil & Gas Denmark’ in region Continental Europe and serves Oil & Gas companies/operators, contractors and manufacturers with independent 3rd party verification services and certification related to (annual) survey, audits and certification of equipment, materials and components. The work mainly relates to verification and certification of cranes and lifting appliances and assessments of manufacturer’s ability to deliver to specifications, eventually - after internal courses and on-the-job training - design appraisal work and internal verification of design appraisals will follow. The section works in close co-operation with sections in Norway. ‘Oil & Gas Denmark’ is looking for a candidate for a Senior Engineer position in our Lifting Appliance (LA) group. The main focus for the group is related to activities in the Danish sector of the North Sea. Our key customers comprise Mærsk Olie og Gas AS, DONG, Hess and various supply- and service companies. The section also undertakes verification activities outside the above, frequently in cooperation with other units in DNV GL. Major Duties The senior engineer will, together with the rest of LA-group be responsible for building the basis and knowledge acting as regional HUB and technical lead within several areas. The senior engineer will build strong connections to vendors and operator service companies, performing design approvals, survey during manufacturing and witnessing of tests as part of traditional product certification. All tasks will be in accordance with specifications, EU directives, Standards for certifications, society rules, etc. The main duties include in particular design review and certification of containers, spreader bars, winches, cranes and other lifting appliances. The senior engineer is responsible for the technical as well as the business result of own work.
