As Senior Specialist in the Linux Team, you will be part of a strategic operational business unit with employees in Copenhagen (DK), Stockholm (SE) and Gdynia (PL) which enable our colleagues in the bank to focus on their customers by ensuring stable IT solutions. UNIX Platforms is part of IT Operations and we are responsible for supporting Nordea’s business applications using the latest technology. The position we offer As Senior Linux Specialist you are responsible for areas within Linux Operation, development of installations, operational procedures and guidelines for the server infrastructure, hardware and software components, and management tools in the data centers. You will act as 3rd level support for the IT-Supporters, Database Specialists, Network Specialists, IT Specialists and Developers in all tasks related to installation, operation and maintenance of the servers’ infrastructure, and potentially also for other infrastructure components and applications. You will interact with Infrastructure Experts and Architects to always ensure that the design and server infrastructure strategy is followed and carried out. You will work on a regional level and take full responsibility for operations and cross-border implementations. As a senior member of the Linux Team, operational quality and platform services are your primary responsibilities. The Linux systems managed and related services are based on latest technology, which means that we are at the forefront of the Linux platform area. Keywords are RHEL 7.2, Puppet, git, Red Hat Satellite, Vmware, UCS hardware, Veritas VCS/Infoscale 7.1, UC4, ITM6, Netbackup/TSM, Oracle DB, DB2, Splunk, auditd, Hadoop, Weblogic. Familiarity with some of these technologies/tools will be an advantage but we do not expect you to be an expert. We also run Solaris 10 and 11 on SUN Sparc (T6320 blades up to T5-4 servers), Fujitsu and Vmware, with zones, ZFS, and Veritas Cluster Server. We use Remedy for Incident, Change, and Asset (CMDB) management. As we work on long-term projects to improve our global IT services and problem handling, you use your technical knowledge to take active part. You will provide sparring to team members and point them in the right directions, or to colleagues with great knowledge on specialized areas to make sure we use our knowledge ideally. At all times you look to improve efficiency, secure high quality within your area of responsibility and that we meet deadlines. The qualifications you need You probably have a relevant higher education but most importantly experience from a Senior Linux Specialist role from a large or medium sized international company. You are proficient or have a big interest with scripting (either or more of shell, python, perl), automation methods, performance tuning, troubleshooting, Unix system and network security, and/or similar domains. You have a business oriented approach, are an able communicator in English and a problem-solver who is able to get your points across in a large organisation. Due to your service oriented approach, you serve as an inspiration for your colleagues. At times, we work under relatively high pressure and so you should have the ability to keep calm and collected.
