For our Component Exchange department we are looking for a proactive and outgoing Tool Developer. The team 'Design & Stress' designs and documents the special tools needed for service operations worldwide. The responsibilities include tools for new turbines under development as well as new tools needed for the installed fleet. As a Tool Developer you will be working both independently and as part of larger project groups. You will be responsible for ensuring on time deliveries of special tools in the right quality. You will be working closely together with other internal departments as well as external suppliers worldwide. What are my responsibilities? Designing service tools as part of new turbine development projects and for the installed fleet. Interacting with external suppliers in order to produce and test prototypes of the service tools. Ensuring that all requirement specifications comply with Siemens guidelines and international standards. Review and verify design concepts from both suppliers and colleagues. Ensure proper documentation of the tools. What do I need to qualify for this job? You have a background within engineering, e.g. construction, production, mechanical etc., combined with 3-5 years of relevant practical experience. You have strong technical/mechanical skills and knowhow. You are experienced in 3D and 2D design, calculations and quality checks. Preferably you have experience with designing in NX and Inventor. As a person you are proactive, persistent and self-driven. You thrive in an environment where you control the development from concept until a prototype has been developed. You possess excellent English skills, both orally and in writing. Furthermore you are willing to travel 4-6 weeks per year if necessary due to test of prototype tools and training. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
