Would you like to play a key role in the new Service Engineering function delivering the next generation of service solutions to the Wind Turbines aftersales market? Are you a Mechanical Engineer with knowledge of Materials and Metallurgy? Are you interested in a career working with development, selection and optimization of materials and surface treatments, non-destructive testing (NDT), contribute in supplier evaluations and lead material investigations? We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our Service Engineering team working with structural wind turbine components and materials. Mechanical Engineer, materials (integrity) The department Service Engineering is a part of the Vestas R&D organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering service solutions enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfill its ambitious, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from parts & repair over maintenance concepts to product improvements like component life extensions, optimizations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the design responsibility for service/aftersales solutions. We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and challenging business Responsibilities: Specification of material quality and inspection requirements on our components Key role in setting the business standards for repair solutions using state of the art technologies Contribute to Vestas continuous development and utilization of materials knowledge Interaction with suppliers and together with sourcing and quality departments participate in assessment and selection of suppliers Perform risk assessment on service and repair solutions considering remaining service life Qualifications: Mechanical Engineer M.Sc or B.Sc Minimum 5 years of experience preferably within structural design and material science Competencies: Knowledge of the design and reliability of structural components Knowledge on materials and their properties Knowledge of material processing (casting, forging etc) Knowledge and interest in non-destructive testing.
