Would you like to play a key part in our structural design of monopile and jacket foundations for our future offshore wind farms? Join us and become a Structural Engineer in our Structural Design department. Together with the Secondary Structures team, you will design structural components for monopile and jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines from the conceptual phase to the detailed design. Apart from designing foundations for offshore wind farms, you will have the opportunity to participate in technology development work, such as development of calculation methods and calculation tools. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our offices in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Your key duties will be to •design, calculate and document structural components •contribute to the development of best practices, calculation methods and calculation tools •work with CAD technicians and help them create and develop drawings •implement lessons learned and new solutions •inspect your own design work at production sites. You will be part of a team designing monopiles and jackets for offshore wind farms. The team is constantly improving on methods and tools as well as best practices for the design of secondary structures such as boat landings, platforms, anode support structures and ladders. Your main area of work is the design of the essential secondary components of the foundation structure, including its subcomponents, in compliance with state-of-the-art knowledge, norms and standards using both in-house calculation tools and commercial software. Your qualifications and core competences include that you •have a relevant engineering degree, for example within civil or mechanical engineering, preferably with some years of experience with offshore structures, eg jackets or monopiles •have a good sense of the optimised design of steel structures with a good understanding of production-friendly design. You have some experience with the design of structures exposed to considerable amounts of fatigue, possibly from a previous employment at a consulting firm or a contractor •have detailed knowledge of the design and verification of steel structures •have detailed knowledge of FE modelling, in ANSYS or a similar FE program. You speak and write English fluently, and preferably also Danish. The department has offices in both Skærbæk near Fredericia and in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. Other interfacing colleagues are located in London, Hamburg, among other places. It is essential that you have good communication skills and that you thrive on being proactive in relation to your colleagues across a geographically scattered organisation.
