Technical Quality Engineer for manufacture of offshore wind turbine foundations

Would you like to help us ensure the quality, efficiency and continued development within the wind power foundation area in Denmark and abroad? Join us and become Technical Quality Engineer in the Engineering & Fabrication Management team which is responsible for the manufacture of foundation structures for our offshore wind farms. Engineering & Fabrication Management is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia. However, you should expect around two travelling days per week as you will be travelling between offices and sites as well as visiting suppliers. Your key duties will be to •be responsible for quality assurance within the foundation fabrication scope •ensure that the processes needed for the fabrication and construction activities are implemented and maintained according to our quality management system •advise, assist, support and follow up on our contractors and the internal fabrication project team members in relation to quality management matters and implementation of contract quality requirements and the defined quality management system •provide input to audit programmes facilitated by the internal QA manager •evaluate and comment on the contractors' supplier management, eg supplier visit and inspection programme, inspection and test plan as well as supplier evaluation. Moreover, you will report systematically to the Fabrication Manager on quality progress as well as on high-priority quality issues across the organisation. You will assist in the preparation, maintenance and implementation of the project quality plans as well as ensure collection and handling of fabrication documentation such as final as-built documentation. Finally, you will be responsible for follow-up on and registration of contractor NCRs in our own document handling system Your qualifications and core competences include that you •have a relevant education and/or practical experience within fabrication of steel components – preferably within the wind industry •are highly experienced in quality management and have completed relevant quality courses and programmes •have extensive insight into project processes, preferably from a similar position •speak and write English fluently, and Danish skills is an advantage •are outgoing, possess strong communication abilities and excel in working with various partners in international settings, to be able to work closely with colleagues, internal and external partners and our contractors. Furthermore, you have the ability to achieve your goals in negotiation situations, an analytical approach to your tasks and a structured, result-oriented mind-set. You are flexible and adaptable, enabling you to handle your tasks even in a hectic environment.
