We are looking for a Technical Writer with CAD skills to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Department within Service Technology. The role involves creating work instructions used when maintaining Siemens wind turbines, globally. The Manufacturing Engineering Department has overall responsibility for the internal communication and documentation used by Service Technicians on-site. The team comprises a mixture of administrative personnel and Service Technicians. What are my responsibilities? Retrieve and utilize CAD models/drawings for use in creating illustrations for Service Work Instructions. Manipulate models/views, generate sectional and exploded views; perform basic dimensioning and screen image downloads Create and update existing work instructions used by Service Technicians Ensure reviews from a technical and safety perspective are considered when releasing Service Work Instructions in Teamcenter (DMS) Build collaboration with the other teams that are using and creating technical illustrations and drawings Manage and shape the position by introducing and developing CAD methodology to improve the technical content of Service Work Instructions and other documentation generated by the Department. Implement a new CMS system to be used for writing Service Work Instructions What do I need to qualify for this job? Experience in writing and managing technical documentation is a key requirement. It is of utmost importance that you are used to work closely with field technicians and design engineers and using their knowledge and experience as the primary input when creating work instructions. Proven experience in driving the implementation of new work procedures and systems To be an outgoing, proactive person who is able to structure the work assignments and is capable of multi-tasking. Understand the importance of adhering to safe working practices whilst producing good quality and precise work instructions. You are well-versed in the terminology of IT applications like CMS and PLM systems. Specific experience with Teamcenter and Cotona are advantageous. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
