We Offer An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join and help develop the finance department of Maersk Oil in Esbjerg. You will join 5 dedicated finance professionals and become part of the team responsible for the financial accounting and corporate reporting for Maersk Oil’s Danish North Sea activities. Here, you will get to drive projects, interact with numerous stakeholders and develop your skills in a truly international environment. Key Responsibilities As our new Accountant, you will be participating in accounting, reporting and forecasting tasks. This involves month end closing procedures and group reporting, and you will get your own areas of responsibility as well as serve as backup for other members of your team. You will take on a role as local finance SAP superuser supporting your team and other stakeholders, and you will be part of the Global Maersk Oil SAP community. At the same time, you will be taking on projects both related to reporting and forecasting. Even though you will always be able to get assistance and confer with your colleagues, we expect you to be able work independently with your projects– always focusing on quality. More specifically, your tasks will be to: • Contribute to accounting, financial reporting and forecasting and serve as our super-user on accounting and reporting systems (SAP, SAP BPC) • Participate in the months end closing process • Develop management reports and assist in the reporting to Maersk Oil Corporate through SAP BPC and HFM • Participate in the quarterly rolling forecasts, challenging and verifying inputs as well as producing reports and analyses for management and Maersk Oil Corporate • Carry out finance related projects in the Danish Business Unit. These could be within finance or cross-functional projects • Serve as backup for other areas and provide assistance and support during periods of external and internal audits Who we are looking for In this position, it is important that you are able to collaborate and communicate with numerous stakeholders. At the same time, you have the experience to be able to work independently on key projects that can have great impact on our organisation. You should also have a working experience with SAP and a clear interest to further develop your skills in this area. More specifically, you have at least 3-5 years of experience within Finance or Accounting – perhaps from working as an accountant in a finance department with hands exposure to SAP. Also, you hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and experience from an international organisation would be an advantage. Finally, you speak and write English at a high level.
