The Electronics Engineering department is responsible purchasing and implementing production equipment for electronic production in the Grundfos Group. As well as we are having specialist supporting production and product development when it comes to specific processes and abilities in electronic production. The department is part of the Development Engineering function that is accountable for all technical investments in production equipment and for the implementation in the production factories. You will lead a team of 15 engineers, project managers and technicians all based in Bjerringbro. “The Grundfos value of focusing on people will be essential in this position, because you have the opportunity to lead a team of self-driven specialists. As such, you focus on developing your employees and on being a competent sparring partner,” Project Execution Manager, Kurt Vendelbo explains. What is the job about? As Department Head, your primary focus is to ensure resource planning and allocation to projects and continuously adjust according to the current situation. Further, being overall accountable for deliveries, you follow up on the project manager’s assignments and ensure reporting to the management team in Development Engineering. In the daily operation, you follow status on your employee’s deliveries, act as a close sparring partner and help solve problems as they occur. Another key element to this position is to help set the future direction for your department. This includes developing and optimising processes as well as developing your employees according to future needs. You will be working closely with other department heads in Development Engineering as well as stakeholders from our Production Development function and Product Development function. “The key challenge in this position is to have the right competencies available in a changing environment, because it is essential toour ability to deliver on time”, Kurt says. What do you need to apply? You have a minimum of 3 years’ management experience paired with an electronic engineering background. Some knowledge of specifying and purchasing equipment is an advantage, as well as knowledge about electronic production and development is preferred. Proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing is a prerequisite. “As a leader, you are empathetic and know how to keep your team motivated when working in a fast paced environment. Also, you have a strong ability to ensure a close collaboration and interaction – not only within the team but with the rest of the organisation as well,” Kurt says.
