We are 11 relentlessly ambitious colleagues in Bjerringbro, Denmark, responsible for developing, maturing and verifying new production processes and technologies. Our goal is to increase quality, sustainability and cost effectiveness to improve competitiveness and realise a difference in the product. The processes relate to mechanical, electronic and mechatronic components. You refer to Department Head, Technology Department Ulrich Brorson. ”You become part of a really great team consisting of 8 Specialists and 2 Project Managers - each with their own area of expertise. But that does not stop us from favouring collaboration. This also means you will get to work on projects outside your own specialist field but still contribute with your ideas,” Ulrich explains. What is the job about? As Development Engineer, your area of specialty will be within either mechanics or electronics and preferably both. Here, you drive development projects, taking in ideas from the organisation and maturing them in order to hand over the new production process to the Production. You take the technical lead in the project being responsible for managing the project from beginning to end. On each project, you work closely with 2-3 colleagues to ensure optimal collaboration and sparring. You will work closely with many stakeholders within the organization such as prototyping, product development and production and use your technical insight to find out what needs to be done and how. You also work with external partners in Denmark and Europe to gain relevant knowledge on demands, wishes and challenges. “One thing is developing processes and technologies, but it is quite another to implement them in our daily Production. That is why it is important that you are outgoing and like to work with other people in project teams. We challenge the way things are done and you need to be able to handle the possible initial resistance to the changes our processes bring along,” Ulrich says. What do you need to apply? You have a technical education at Master level or above within the field of mechanics or electronics. Furthermore, you possess solid practical and theoretical experience within both areas. You speak and write fluent English, and it is a plus if you know Danish. It is an advantage but not a prerequisite if you have project management experience. “As a person, you take initiative and are willing to take a few risks when developing new processes. You are independent and able to drive the changes but at the same time, you function well in a team and can communicate effectively with the many different stakeholders,” Ulrich finishes.
