EPC Onshore Project Manager handling onshore substation activities for offshore wind projects

Would you like to join a multi-disciplinary team developing and constructing onshore substations? Join us as EPC Onshore Substation Project Manager in our department Substations Project Management and help us implement large offshore wind projects in Northern Europe. Together with your colleagues, you will head the development and implementation of our future wind projects comprising a wide range of various types of onshore substations. Substations Project Management is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of five business unit in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia. Alternatively, you may be based in our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. You should, however, expect some travelling in Denmark and Northern Europe in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As EPC Onshore Project Manager, you will be responsible for all matters pertaining to project development and construction of wind farms. You will also be responsible for starting up the project where you will lay down the overall project requirements and manage time, budget, scope, vendors, deliveries, quality, tenders, contracts, claims, interfaces, HSE, resources, risks and stakeholders. In cooperation with the line organisation, you will ensure resources and team performance of project sub-groups responsible for design, construction, installation and commissioning. Moreover, you will ensure technical documentation of the design, construction, installation and commissioning, safety philosophy, inspection plan, decommissioning and abandonment plan as well as the operation and maintenance manual for the substations. You will also close down the project, finalise the CAPEX account and hand over the assets to our Operations departments. Throughout the entire duration of the project, you will be responsible for managing and motivating the project team, enabling them to become a high-performing team. You will also ensure that the projects are delivered within scope, on time and on budget. Your profile You have a degree in engineering within civil structures and a certification in project management at PMI or ICMA level. You will have extensive experience with EPC project management of multi-disciplinary, large-scale civil construction projects. Preferably, you can draw on several years of experience with country-relevant contracts, eg FIDIC/VOB and CDM regulations, primarily focusing on management of external engineering consultants and external construction and installation contractors. You will thrive in a fast-paced and diverse international environment bringing together various employee groups, nationalities, cultures and authorities. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and master English at negotiation level. Moreover, it is important that you have a result-oriented approach to your work.
