Are you experienced with specification and test of high voltage components? Do you want to work with a team of highly skilled engineers on the core system of a wind turbine? If so, you could be our new High Voltage Engineer to join our team. Technology & Service Solutions, Nacelle Power & Handling, Electrical Power & Control, Converter Electrical & High Voltage Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Converter Electrical & High Voltage department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. The department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing the electrical power conversion components as power stack (power electronics), transformer and switchgear. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. The daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and together with the electrical specialists you will set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be a part of the High Voltage team within the Converter Electrical & High Voltage department. The department consists of 12 highly skilled designers and specialists located in Aarhus. Responsibilities: As Engineer in High Voltage, you will be a part of the High Voltage team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control. Your primary tasks will be: Conceptual design and specification of High Voltage Equipment Create requirement specification for High Voltage Transformers, Switchgears and other high voltage equipment’s Review of suppliers design Set targets for how to qualify components and create test verification procedures Participate in tests with suppliers and write test- and design verification reports Participate in test and validation of prototypes Provide technical support to strategic purchaser in evaluating supplier performance Participate in QA Audits at suppliers facilities Implementation of equipment into our turbine platforms Qualifications: Your qualifications include: B.Sc.E.E, M.Sc.E.E, B.Sc. Marine Engineering or Degree in Service Engineering (in danish El-Installatør) Practical experience in High Voltage equipment Design experience on high voltage power systems Experienced in writing design specifications and verification reports Structured, open-minded, trustworthy, ambitious, communicative, self-motivated and robust Good at presenting technical material to peers and management Willing to travel (25–40 days/year) Competencies: We are looking for a candidate with a theoretical background preferably from design and test of High Voltage components in order to ensure a fast introduction to this position. However we encourage even newly graduated to apply, if you possess the right background and determination to take on this challenge. Commitment and motivation will bring you far, and you should be capable of becoming an expert in this exiting field of work within a relatively short time. You confront new challenges with positivity, creativity and a natural flair for innovation, and you thrive with varied tasks and constant changes from day to day. You will often work independently as a High Voltage expert in large-scale development projects with colleagues from construction and R&D, where you perform with significant and independent responsibility under short deadlines.
