Novozymes Patents & Licensing is an international organization recognized as a dynamic and ambitious group which integrates world class IP rights into Novozymes’ global activities. As a Patent Attorney your task will be to create an IPR platform which provides Novozymes with the best possible position in the market. Accordingly, an important part of your job will be to facilitate an environment where all Zymers (Novozymes employees) think IPR into everything we do. Additionally, you will be expected to support – and challenge – R&D and the overall organization to ensure that our innovation is protected by the best possible IPR. Our extensive patent portfolio is organized into a number of Patent Portfolio Groups. A Patent Portfolio Group is the team that executes the IP strategy of the individual patent portfolios within one of Novozymes’ 10 industry segments. Your job will be to support a few Patent Portfolio Groups with drafting and prosecution of patent applications as well as monitoring competitors and performing freedom-to-operate analysis. In addition to participating in patent related conflicts such as oppositions before the European Patent Office, supporting international litigation cases could be part of your tasks. When input from IP searches is needed you will have the support of a team of highly qualified IP Analysts. The execution of the various tasks will take place in close collaboration with IP colleagues as well as representatives from the R&D and Sales & Marketing organizations who are also members of the Patent Portfolio Groups. In this position you need to: Have worked as a Patent Attorney for a few years, and you are planning to sit the European Qualifying Exam or similar national qualification within the next few years. Hold a Master’s degree within biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology or similar, possibly supplemented with a PhD. Be fluent in English and capable of communicating in a clear and concise language. Be outgoing, ambitious, self-disciplined, systematic and comfortable in managing internal stakeholders, from scientists to commercial colleagues. Are you the next Zymer in our team?
