DTU Compute represents a unique combination of mathematics and computer science, including competencies in information processing in the broadest sense and in the development of modern computer based systems. Consequently, DTU Compute is in an ideal position to utilize synergies arising in the crossroads between IT and mathematics, and therefore well positioned to address the challenges of the digital society as mathematics and computational methods play an increasingly important role in the engineering sciences as well as in a number of other areas in modern society. Research in the section AlgoLoG – Algorithms, Logic and Graphs – focuses on a broad range topics both within each of these disciplines and in the interaction between them. In the graph theory area, the section has a very active group lead by professor Carsten Thomassen, who is the Principal Investigator of the ERC Advanced Grant GRACOL: Graphs, Colorings and Flows. DTU Compute, Section for Algorithms, Logic and Graphs, invites applications for an appointment as Postdoc within graph theory, to be part of the research team working within the framework of GRACOL. Responsibilities and tasks The research should focus on the areas graph decomposition, connectivity, and chromatic graphs theory as dealt with in GRACOL. It is expected that the new postdoc will engage in research collaboration with the other members of the group and inspire the PhD-students whose current work is about graph decomposition, connectivity, and chromatic graph theory. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. The PhD should be in an area within the remit of GRACOL.
