DTU Fotonik works with all areas of photonic engineering, including Solid State Lighting (SSL) which is rapidly emerging as the most energy efficient alternative to traditional lighting systems The postdoc project will focus on photometric measurements and modelling of LED light sources within the Diode Lasers and LED Systems group at DTU Fotonik. Responsibilities and tasks The postdoc will contribute to leading research in applied Solid State Lighting technology, both theoretical and experimental task, including: •Photometric and colorimetric test of components and LED systems •Temporal light intensity variation (flicker) measurements •Modeling of illumination systems •Simulation of solar cell powered LED lighting systems Other content of the position: •Research with some teaching. It may also involve handling other assignments to a limited extent. •The candidate will, in addition to scientific research, be holding lectures on introduction to photonics at DTU, and also participate in design and development of new courses in photonics. Besides teaching, the candidate will also design, develop and supervise laboratory exercises. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in physics, a strong background in optics, and hands-on experience with experimental optical work.
