Research Associate for Enzyme Purification and Characterization We seek an experienced, independent and positive technician to join our dedicated team within Enzyme Purification and Characterization. The department is part of Enzyme Discovery including 70 scientists and technicians located in Bagsværd. Together we work in the flow from genome sequencing and microbial screening to the delivery of pure and characterized protein samples for our R&D application units. In our department we are 31 devoted people, with the key responsibility of purifying and characterizing novel enzymes. Qualifications • You are a skilled and experienced laboratory technician within protein biochemistry. • You have at least 4 years of practical laboratory experience. • Preferably, you have experience and interest in keeping equipment running well – and in optimizing purification processes. • You have knowledge of enzymatic assays and biochemical characterization of enzymes. • You are independent and thorough in your work; you are a fast learner and take pride in delivering high quality work on time. • You are competent in written and spoken English and confident with the MS Office package, in particular Word and Excel. Challenges You will be part of a dynamic work environment in a department that serves as an important link between different areas of R&D. As a laboratory technician you will work with protein purification and characterization of recombinant wild-types and variants. Furthermore you will participate in using Lean methods to optimize the efficiency of processes within and across departments. You will have the daily responsibility to plan, carry out and report laboratory experiments in agreement with your manager/scientist.
