- Research Scientist - Denmark - Måløv In Global Research, we are specialised in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes. We also discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for haemophilia and growth disorders. Furthermore, we conduct stem cell and beta cell regeneration research and other early-stage investigations aimed at finding a cure for diabetes, as well as exploring novel treatments for obesity and long-term, micro-vascular complications of diabetes. About the department The department of Diabetes Biology and Metabolism is seeking a skilled scientist for a permanent position. The department is specialised in in vitro diabetes research with focus on type 2 diabetes biology. We are currently 5 scientists and 8 technicians working in teams consisting of a scientist and one or more technicians. We contribute to several different research projects and are responsible for delivering high quality data and scientific expertise to originate and drive research projects forward to clinical trials. The department is based in modern facilities in Måløv in the Copenhagen area. The job You will be part of multidisciplinary project groups and will provide in vitro and ex vivo experimental work in particular within cell biology and in vitro pharmacology. You will be responsible for supervising one or more technicians on a daily basis and will work closely together with the other scientists within the department and cross-functionally with e.g. in vivo pharmacology and chemistry departments. The job also encompasses being an active player in suggesting and pursuing novel target ideas within type 2 diabetes as well as in challenging on-going projects while constantly updating your knowledge within the relevant scientific areas. Qualifications You hold a PhD and have experience in biological sciences with focus on diabetes biology including glucose and lipid metabolism. You have in-depth knowledge of the biology and pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes. Experience in setting up and running assays in medium throughput format is an advantage.
