DEIF is looking for an experienced Embedded Linux Senior Developer for our Platform SW development department. The department focus on low-level platform software and perform a number of different tasks ranging from development of new platforms/products to updating and continuously keeping existing products updated with patches and last but not least – together with our Cyber Security Specialist - to ensure the Cyber Security in existing products.
Our aim is to design software using agile development processes and automated test equipment. We value a high quality level in our software deliveries and solutions. This is the key selling point of the DEIF products.
The job:
As our new Senior Linux Developer, you will be the driver in a minor Linux team and ensure that the team is focused on reaching their goals. External resources will periodically boost the team when the workload requires it. You will collaborate with other departments across the organisation, primarily the product specialists and the hardware development department.
Your primary tasks include:
Architecture of Linux
OpenEmbedded, OE-lite or Yocto tasks
Linux real time kernel-, driver- and application-development
Bootloader optimisation and configuration (U-boot, barebox)
GNU toolchain, BSP development and cross-compile of Linux for embedded systems
Open source tools for system tracing, performance and benchmark analysis
Interpretation and review of hardware diagrams in a software perspective
Hardware bring-up and debugging
Problems in system and product architecture
Keeping BSP’s up-to-date
The person:
With a background in engineering on either bachelor, master or similar level you have solid experience with software architecture and embedded Linux – kernel as well as periphery functionality. In addition, you hold knowledge about C programming and design of automatic test equipment as well as being experienced in agile development processes such as scrum, continuous integration and continuous delivery. As a person, you are able to take responsibility and lead the way for your colleagues while having an eye for details and the ability to see the big picture of the project. DEIF is an international company. Therefore, basic skills in English in writing and speech is necessary.
It is an advantage if you also have knowledge within:

CAN-bus
Managed network
Real time automation network (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS/PROFINET, IEC61850)
