Industrialization > CAD Engineering & Simulation > Mechanical CAD Engineering and Simulation (CE&S) is globally accountable for the detailed design (CAD Engineering) of all product development activities in Vestas. CE&S is also responsible for all flow analysis (CFD Simulations) in supporting the concept product development and verifying the product design. Vestas has functionalized the areas CAD & CFD to improve the efficiency and quality of the detailed design and simulation work significantly and rapidly. Responsibilities Your primary area of responsibility will be, not excluded to: Scoping of assignments, coordination, guidelines, mentorship, solving specific CFD assignments. Having the technical responsibility for the execution of CFD activities in relation to all technology and product development projects at Vestas. Develop cost-efficient design solutions with the engineering teams fulfilling the technical requirements by supporting the design teams with fundamental physical knowledge relevant for the given technical problem. Contributing to generation of new innovative product and process solutions together with colleagues. Main Tasks: Development of principal solutions within fluid dynamics, heat transfer, noise and cooling and conditioning. Execute CFD simulation on multi-physics problems Advisor for development engineers and designers in relation to product design, test and verification. Define and implement best practices processes and methods in relation to CFD work performed by CE&S. Supervise the execution of different engineering projects and the technical aspects of the CFD work. Communicate with various stakeholders in relation to challenges in the execution phase. Assess design solution in regards to fluid dynamics, heat transfer, noise and cooling and conditioning aspects. Participate actively in the development of new product concepts. Qualifications M.Sc./ Ph.D. degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering or Energy Technology. 5 to +10 years of experience with CFD and the ability to use CFD simulation effectively. Minimum 5 years' experience from industrial companies and an ability to transfer knowledge to others ending in physical products. Detailed knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, noise and vibration. Detailed knowledge on ANSYS CFX and Fluent, ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS DesignModeller and ANSYS Meshing. Knowledge with ICEM CFD, Matlab, ANSYS DesignXplorer and good programming skills. Excellent understanding of physics and new technologies. Excellent problem solving and keen analytical skills combined with the ability to update your own knowledge. Good English communication skills on negotiation level. Knowledge about the Indian culture would be an advantage as many team members are working at Vestas’ Chennai site. Competencies Must be able push processes ahead and also lead the CFD processes. Delegate and manage the different project processes. High degree of professionalism and good business sense. Proactive and self-dependent, combined with good communication and integrating skills. Quality and cost conscious with strong focus on continuous improvement. Intercultural team player, interact with different cultures.
