DTU Management Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for one or more positions as Assistant or Associate Professor in Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. The new associate/assistant professor will be affiliated the Entrepreneurship group within the department’s Technology and Innovation Management division. The group is responsible for the division’s research, teaching and extracurricular activities in entrepreneurship. The group is currently staffed with five persons: an assistant professor, a PostDoc, a PhD-student, a research assistant and a full-time lecturer. Furthermore, a secretary, an assistant professor, two associate professors, and a full professor are part-time affiliated to the group. The group is expected to increase during the coming years. As a leading technical university DTU has a well-developed eco-system related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development. For the right candidate this constitutes a unique opportunity for research, teaching, and networking. Responsibilities and tasks With this position, the department wants to strengthen its capabilities in research, teaching, and extracurricular activities within Entrepreneurship. We are seeking candidates, who are committed to high quality research that will impact the field, and who can interact effectively with peers in enhancing the intellectual climate of the division. The assistant/associate professor is expected to take a leading position in research-based teaching (with associated examination commitments) at the Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. Contributions to the university’s executive programs are welcomed. A general task is to increase entrepreneurship awareness and spread the approach of entrepreneurship as a mindset among students. The assistant/associate professor is expected to take a leading role in collaboration with external stakeholders and contribute to the wider knowledge-exchange with society at large. This includes an active role in the Copenhagen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab (CIEL), an alliance between three major universities in the Copenhagen area (DTU, CBS and UCPH). This also includes collaboration with internal stakeholders in DTU’s innovation, entrepreneurship and business development eco-system. For an associate professor this position includes a leading role in developing and leading new research and alliances, further building up of the research team, developing substantial research applications and further accelerating the overall academic publication output. Supervising and supporting doctoral students and early career team members will also be a central task. Qualifications Candidates for an •Assistant Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) •Associate Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship and should document didactic/pedagogic training. Assessment In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to •experience in teaching and education •scientific production and research potential at an international level •the ability to promote and utilize research results •an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience •the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation For the specific position consideration will be given to documented experience of at least one of the following topics: •Technology entrepreneurship •University-industry technology transfer •Nexus between design engineering and entrepreneurship Alternatively, consideration is given applicants with documented experiences in the wider academic field of innovation management combined with interests and potentials in one of the above-mentioned topics.
