The Eriksholm Research Centre is seeking to fill a 3-year temporary position starting in November 2016 as Project Manager. Here you will be part of the vibrant Eriksholm research team, driving innovative applied research for all divisions of William Demant. About the position We have been successful in receiving a 3-year grant from the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 call topic “Big Data and Public Health Policies”. The Project Consortium includes 13 Partners across Europe and Eriksholm Research Centre Research Area Manager Niels Henrik Pontoppidan is Coordinator for the Consortium. The project requires effective multi-site project management, including coordination between Partners, efficient communication with the European Commission and clear, proactive dissemination of project findings to a diverse range of stakeholders. We seek a Project Manager to help the Coordinator with these important tasks. You do not require in-depth scientific knowledge in the fields of research, but a research education (PhD) and previous experience with EU projects is an asset. Your focus will be on Project Management, including follow up on time and resource plans, budgets, and deliverables/content. You will be the right hand of the Coordinator, ensuring the successful completion of the project. Your working days will be truly diverse. You will: Coordinate and manage communication with Project Officer, Managers (Scientific, Technical, Quality, Finance, Dissemination, Exploitation, and Ethics Managers), Work Package Leaders, and Partners: Collect and review information from Partners on progress, time schedules, deliverables, and use of budget Prepare recurring reports to the EU Project Officer on progress and budget Travel to Partners for review and coordination meetings as needed Oversee the progress of the project according to the Grant Agreement Ensure that Partners act in accordance with the procedures set out by the European Commission and agreed in the Consortium Run the review processes and follow up on milestones and deliverables Organise and run meetings, including annual Project Meetings and Advisory Board Meetings Organise and run mid-term review (if/when called by EU Project Officer) Manage internal governance Progress reporting to Eriksholm Research Centre management Manage project finances, including funding of Project Partners In addition to the tasks within the project, you may also contribute to: Write grant applications at the Eriksholm Research Centre Advance research projects at the Eriksholm Research Centre through specific and relevant tasks Your background You have significant experience with multi-site project management – preferably of EU projects. You have excellent computer skills and are familiar with computer solutions that integrate the work of multiple sites. We welcome applicants with MSc or PhD in natural sciences or applied sciences (e.g., engineering). Skills and experience in computer science will be an asset. As a person, you thrive in a dynamic environment with numerous stakeholders. You are comfortable working in an international environment and communicate, argue and present your opinions in a strong and convincing way. When challenges arise, you keep focused and lead the way. You are used to working according to processes, and you are highly skilled in planning and structuring your work. You show strong negotiation skills and are not afraid in standing up for your points. Furthermore, you are a great team player, able to reach goals together with others.
