About the department Novo Nordisk has an ambitious pipeline of CAPEX projects, aiming to expand its global production capacity to meet future needs from our patients. In this context, the engineering category team is growing and we are looking for a talented candidate. You will be part of a high performing procurement team. We are a very experienced and international team of 20 engaged employees working on a high people-focused culture. Together, we serve our customers on all global production sites throughout Novo Nordisk. Every day, we execute significant purchases and ensure optimal sourcing scenarios in investment projects worldwide. Our purchases range from constructions and buildings over critical production equipment to engineering services. In 2015, we managed to spend DKK ~4.7bn. The position Among your core responsibilities, you will manage procurement in several major CAPEX projects in Denmark as well as international sites (i.e. RFQ, tendering, bid evaluation and clarification, contract preparation and negotiations). Moreover, part of your work will include optimizing Novo Nordisk’s engineering supplier portfolio, tracking performance according to contracts and taking necessary actions to ensure the right performance i.e. claims handling, and supplier re-evaluation. In this sense, you will strive for bridging Novo Nordisk’s business needs with suppliers’ offerings ensuring best-in-class supply and demand alignment. You will interact closely with key cross-functional Novo Nordisk stakeholders in order to ensure the right approach for sourcing of engineering services compared to actual and future needs. This means, achieving the lowest possible total project capital costs, while taking into due consideration technical solutions, commercial scenarios, quality standards and risk management. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate with more than 5-7 years of professional category management experience, preferably from a complex industry and/or an understanding of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) and the pharmaceutical industry environment. Engineering or business educational background at a Master level is needed. Additionally, you must be fluent in English (both written and oral) and master Microsoft Office. You are able to work very independently and challenge specific projects and develop alternative solutions. In the same manner, you are able to act as consultant for internal groups and management and use the right personal approach in order to handle suppliers successfully. For this reason, you have solid analytical skills and a significant practical experience in analysing complex numbers and issues. As the position requires you to build a strong network internally in Novo Nordisk as well as with suppliers worldwide, you must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and secure commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.
