Would you like to be part of a team of highly skilled academics and laboratory assistants that develop production processes for new therapeutic proteins? About the department Biopharm Cultivation Development is situated in Hillerød in new facilities with cultivation bioreactors from 15 ml to 500 L and a GMP cell banking facility. We cultivate mammalian cells in shaker flasks, glass tanks, wave bags, steel tanks and single-use equipment. The cultivation processes are typically based on techniques such as standard fed-batch fermentations as well as continuous fermentations (i.e. perfusion). We have built and qualified our own facility for production and storage of mammalian cell banks. The department consists of 21 persons in two teams: Mammalian Cell Banking team and Bioreactor team. Our main responsibilities are to develop and perform scalable cultivation processes and to produce and store mammalian cell banks. The department is part of the R&D organisation that manufactures and control pharmaceutical proteins for toxicological and clinical studies. We are continuously improving our procedures using LEAN. Besides development of the product portfolio we put emphasis on evaluation and implementation of new technologies. The job Your major task will be to develop cultivation processes for new biopharmaceuticals at laboratory scale, as well as to transfer these to pilot plants for the production of drug substance for clinical trials. Documentation of process robustness and scalability is an integrated part of our work process. During this work you will encounter technical and scientific challenges. You will work with and further develop state of the art techniques on several projects, and you will participate in cross-organizational API project groups. Qualifications You should hold a scientific academic degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or another relevant discipline. Preferably, you have 2-3 years of experience within the field of cell cultivation at laboratory, pilot, or production scale. You are prepared for assignments of different character while still keeping the overview. You are a person who sees opportunities, takes on responsibility and wants to be a part of a team. Proficiency in Danish is not absolutely necessary. You are enthusiastic, open-minded and flexible by nature, full of initiative and able to work both independently and in a team environment. You display assertiveness and impact, and your strong communicative skills make you a credible and convincing communicator.
