Are you motivated by developing creative hardware and instrumentation solutions and not afraid to grab a soldering iron? Would you like to play a key role in securing a rock solid firmware base for all of Oticon’s hearing aids? Then we have a job for you as Firmware Test Framework Engineer in our IC development department! Development of Test Framework for hearing aid firmware In your new position, you will be a part of the Silicon Engines group. This group consists of 50 engineers and is responsible for developing chipsets for all Oticon hearing aids. As part of Silicon Engines, you will refer to the Head of Chipset & FW and work closely together with our six firmware developers to ensure a release package that is thoroughly tested. The firmware package consists mainly of boot code, device drivers, file system, RTOS and wireless protocols. Your main tasks include: •Design, development and maintenance of a test framework for firmware continuous integration and regression testing •Assistance with test writing and error debugging •Ensuring that all errors are reported and followed-up Our working philosophy is that the firmware developers are responsible for developing and verifying tests for their own code and debugging errors relating to that. It is expected that the test framework engineer assists with this as needed. Experience with embedded system testing We expect you to hold a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering and to have several years’ experience with developing tests set-ups for embedded systems. Furthermore, we are looking for the following competencies and experience: •Hardware instrumentation – Incl. creative solutions. Not just connecting an instrument and writing a driver •C/C++ for embedded software •Java •Linux Finally, it would be an advantage if you have experience with: •Jenkins / Hudson •SCONS based build systems.
