Detailed Description Develop and implement global sourcing strategies As Global Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing global strategies within our Fabrications & Structural Steel Category. Your main tasks will be · Develop and deploy the category strategy based on the 5 steps sourcing model and overall procurement strategy · Lead the total procurement development activities throughout the entire category dimension · Lead and manage a global category team, in a matrix setup. · Guide relevant stakeholders to actively support the category activities and deliverables · Report cost reduction activities and achievements · Actively monitor the external market conditions of impact on our business · Create conditions for professional supplier relations and development. · Travel 50-70 days per year to meet your contacts Job Requirements Engineer with international procurement experience You bring a degree in engineering e.g. mechanical, business commercial engineer with supply chain management or similar. You should also bring solid work experience in fabrications on a global scale. We believe that you have previously held positions as Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager or Category/Sourcing Manager in an international environment. A background as Operations Manager or similar is also relevant. You would also need to be proficient in 3C sourcing strategy and implementation. As such, you have strong insight within business finance, project and product budgets as well as component cost models. You can balance negotiating the best prices without jeopardising the need to uphold mutual beneficial long-term relationships with suppliers. A proficient command of written and spoken English is also required. You thrive in a global organisation and have the energy and communicative skills to create results in collaboration with many different people. This includes the ability to manage team members located in various areas within the global FLSmidth organisation at multiple locations. You have the analytical skills to get hold on details and the overview to take a holistic perspective of complex situations, schedules and projects. As a person, you can handle pressure, and you enjoy facing challenges and have a persistent attitude towards making things better.
