We Offer Maersk Drilling Technical Organisation is looking for a new Head of Well Control Equipment (WCE) Technical Authority & Governance. The position reports to the Head of Engineering & Projects and is responsible for the following working areas: • BOP’s and BOP control systems • Diverters and diverter control systems • Choke & Kill systems and control systems • Marine riser systems (shared responsibility) As the Head of WCE you will play a key role as you get to define and implement improvements in the way Maersk Drilling purchases, operates and maintains subsea and WCE. By continuously establishing and developing a team of recognised WCE Specialists you will get the chance to show your skills as a leader. Key Responsibilities • Lead and be responsible for on time and on budget delivery of projects relating to WCE. • Allocate and prioritise resources to support yard stay projects, upgrade projects, new installations and modifications to existing drilling rigs as required. • Provide competent personnel to act as Technical Authorities for WCE. • Ensure Maersk Drilling complies with relevant Rules, Regulations and Standards. • Take ownership of Maersk Drilling WCE operational procedures and continually review the same to ensure that industry best practice is met. • Establish and maintain a lessons learned data base to ensure that common issues and failures are resolved on all rigs. • Provide technical expertise for operational and maintenance improvements in all matters relating to WCE • Support the major spares and equipment exchange program by reviewing documentation and overhaul procedures. • Participate in Maersk Drilling and industry competence mapping and training initiatives for personnel working with WCE. • Lead engagement with customers, suppliers and departments within Maersk Drilling on all issues related to WCE. • Assist operations to develop budgets, operational and maintenance procedures, contracts, contact to authorities and cost control. Who we are looking for The right candidate has a background from the drilling industry and experience with jack up and deepwater drilling operations. Furthermore, a background in surface and subsea Well Control Equipment is preferred. You have a bachelor within Engineering or equivalent and min. 10 years experience from the oil & gas industry, incl. a team lead or management role. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and leading others comes naturally. You thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, dealing with many tasks at the same time. You furthermore have the ability to grasp highly complex and technically advanced equipment. You are computer literate, including Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project. Familiarity with an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, IFS) is preferred. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills is a prerequisite. 70-90 travel days per year must be expected in this role.
