The section Neutrons and X-rays for Materials Physics (NEXMAP) at DTU Physics focuses on gaining knowledge on fundamental properties of materials through experiments conducted at neutron and X-ray facilities around the world. Development of instruments, software for virtual experiments, and novel data analysis methods play a key role in this effort. The candidate will work at the Imaging industry portal in the LINX project. The portal was inaugurated in 2014 with the aim to foster partnerships with industry in projects where X-ray or neutron tomography can provide useful information about the internal structure of a material. The LINX (Linking industries to Neutrons and X-rays) project is a project involving 3 universities and 14 industry partners. The core team in the imaging industry portal comprises 8-10 people. The group is involved in strategic research, eg. in energy technologies, instrumentation and software developments relating to new types of x-ray sources as well as the support of commercial projects. Responsibilities and tasks The candidate will work at the Imaging industry portal in the LINX project. The LINX (Linking Industries to Neutrons and X-rays) project aim at extending the existing research methods within material science using neutrons and X-rays to be used for solving industry relevant research and development problems. The DTU part of the LINX project is focusing on X-ray and neutron imaging techniques for material characterization. The successful candidate will be part of a number of sub project and also be in charge of some subprojects within the LINX project. The candidate will work closely with the industry partners and with the people from the departments take part in the imaging industry portal.
