Application date Monday, February 15, 2016 - 23:59 Location Lyngby, Denmark We offer a position as a refractory engineer – a position that allows you to join and perform a wide range of tasks within the field of refractory engineering. You will be involved in interdisciplinary project groups and will acquire a broad technical knowledge within the theoretical part of refractory design and engineering as well as within the practical work of on-site installations and inspections. The job involves regular contact with colleagues in affiliated offices around the world and our international suppliers and clients. Assignments abroad in connection with engineering, inspection and installation of refractory linings of process equipment are an essential part of the job. Approximately 60-90 days of travel a year is expected. The department consists of approximately 40 colleagues mainly mechanical engineers and technical designers. We are ambitious in our work and in achieving our goals. We make solutions that contribute to solving global challenges within energy, environment, food and climate. We use design tools such as: AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, Simutherm, PV-Elite as well as in-house developed software. Most of our design work is based on international codes and standards such as ASME VIII, Div. 1 & 2, EN 13445 and ISO5022. Your responsibilities •design, purchase and inspect refractory lining of various process equipment to end-user •participate in the maintenance and development of our proprietary equipment design •participate in multidisciplinary projects from start to finish - from design to plant operationalization •participate in technical after sale service and failure analysis •design and prepare technical documentation for procurement •review of engineering carried out by others •inspect and secure quality control at manufacturers’ workshops •supervise services on site during original erection as well as during later maintenance and repair work You •have experience from the field of practical refractory engineering and design •have good basic understanding of refractory materials •are comfortable with a job that requires you to complete tasks both in the office and outside the office •are co-operative, open-minded and prepared to work in a technical environment •are internationally oriented and interested in working globally Qualifications You are a qualified engineer - mechanical, chemical or equivalent or you may have a craftsman background. Good command of English, both spoken and written, is required.
