Senior Linux Specialist within Nordea UNIX Platforms

As Senior Specialist in the Linux Team, you will be part of a strategic operational business unit with employees in the Nordic region, Poland and Baltic countries. UNIX Platforms is part of IT Operations and we are responsible for supporting Nordea’s business applications and internal IT services with stable IT solutions. We use the latest technology and tools and our work processes are based on best practice and our procedures follow ITIL standards. The position we offer You are responsible for areas within Linux Operation, development of installation, operational procedures and guidelines for the server infrastructure, hardware and software components, and management tools in the data centres. You act as 3rd level support for the IT-Supporters, Database Specialist, Network Specialist, IT Specialists and Developers in all tasks related to installation, operation and maintenance of the servers’ infrastructure. Potentially also for other infrastructure components and applications. You interact with Infrastructure Experts and Architects to ensure at all time that the design and given server infrastructure strategy is fol-lowed and carried out. You act on a regional level and takes full responsibility for operations and implementations cross borders. As a senior member of the Linux Team - Operational quality and platform services are your primary responsibilities. The Linux systems managed and related services are based on latest technology, which means that we are at the forefront of the Linux platform area. As we work on long-term projects to improve our global IT services and problem handling, you use your technical knowledge to take active part. You provide sparring with team members and point them towards right directions, or to colleagues with great knowledge on specialised areas to make sure we use our vast pool of knowledge optimally. At all times you look to improve efficiency, secure high quality within your area of responsibility and that we meet deadlines. The qualifications you need You probably have a relevant higher education and you have at least 5 years in a senior Linux specialist role with experience from a large or medium sized international company. You have a business oriented approach, are an able communicator in English and a problem-solver who is able to get your points across in a large organisation. Due to your service oriented approach, you serve as an inspiration for your colleagues. As our department at times is a fast-moving, you have the ability to keep calm and collected at all times.
