Copenhagen Ref.: MO-034841 Maersk Oil is looking for a professional senior surveyor to join the Geomatics Team as seismic positioning specialist in our Global Surface Technology Department at our Copenhagen headquarters. We Offer The Geomatics Team is part of the Global Subsurface Technology Department that provides technical and operational support to Maersk Oil’s operating units within Geomatics, Geomechanics and EOR and geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation. Geomatics support is critical to many exploration, development and production processes and has a direct impact on many business decisions. As a member of the Geomatics Team you will report to the Geomatics Team Lead and be responsible for the successful delivery of this support to the operating units. You will ensure that seismic surveys and other surveying and positioning operations are planned and executed in time while meeting business objectives. The Geomatics Team manages surveying and positioning operations in support of exploration, development and production processes within the various operating units, ranging from drilling and construction/development site investigations to support of seismic surveys, both on- and offshore. The Team also provides technical support and expert technical advice within practical geodesy, coordinate data management and quality control, mapping, remote sensing and within GIS for data management and mapping. Key Responsibilities • Acting as the Company seismic positioning specialist providing expert technical advice within seismic survey planning, 3D and 4D line planning, source and receiver positioning, seismic position data quality control, processing and binning and seismic position data management, • Providing survey and positioning support during the planning, execution, reporting and processing of marine towed streamer and OBC/OBN and land seismic data acquisition projects, including development of work scopes and technical specifications, • Project management of operational survey activities in Denmark and overseas. Projects range from marine geophysical and geotechnical site investigations to positioning support for drilling and construction activities, • Providing expert advice and technical services within:- surveying, mapping and positioning; geodesy in the broadest sense; geospatial/coordinate data management and quality control. The successful candidate will be expected to develop the skills required to fulfil the position, not only the technical aspects but also in the areas of project and contract management and the underlying commercial principles. An outgoing personality with leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate contracted service companies and supervisory staff is essential. Networking skills will also be needed in order to communicate clearly with third party contractors as well as colleagues across departmental boundaries.
