Can you secure the further development of the biological process to meet the future needs of the waste industry? Join us and become Team Lead for our R&D people in REnescience, an area that develops, matures and sells technology for handling household waste and turning this into sustainable energy and recycling. Our ambition is to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of technology in this field. We currently operate a major pilot and demonstration facility in the Copenhagen area. The department is part of Thermal Power, which has 900 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We own just below half of the thermal production capacity in Denmark and are at the forefront of the development within efficient use of biomass and reduction of the environmental impact through innovative bio-refining technologies. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia. Areas of responsibility Your primary responsibility is to actively manage the R&D team of 4-5 team members and secure the further development and optimisation of the REnescience process. R&D is involved in chemical, biochemical and microbiological test and analysis and participates in trial preparation, sampling, evaluation and final reporting including statistics. You will be one of two team leads in a department with totally 12 dedicated colleagues engaged in the technical development of the REnescience. As a key person in our department, you will be expected to secure the further development of the biological side of the REnescience process to meet the future needs of the waste industry. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: develop biological, enzymatic and chemical measuring principles plan, implement and document laboratory, pilot and demonstration trials upscale biological processes and develop biological systems for waste refineries of the future secure documentation to be used for IPR secure quality of statistic planning, methods and calculations. Your profile You have a master's or PhD degree in chemistry, biotech or microbiology or a similar technical background. It is an advantage if you have some experience within the field of waste as well as experience in the practice of biotechnology. Preferably, you can demonstrate results and experience within upscaling of biotechnological processes or in bringing technology from a pilot scale to a commercial scale. Knowledge regarding IPR is an advantage. You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to present and communicate complex matters in a professional and straightforward way to your colleagues and stakeholders. Moreover, you have strong English skills, both verbally and in writing. As a person, you are self-driven, persistent and have a holistic mind-set. Entrepreneurship and readiness for change are also key words. You are able to prioritise your tasks, and you see documentation as a natural part of your job.
