We are looking for a Technical Writer to our Service Manual team within the Service Technology department, to create service manuals for maintaining our wind turbines globally. Furthermore the role includes ownership for service documentation related to one of our documentation platforms, securing high-quality service documentation used on site by our global team of Service Technicians. What are my responsibilities? As platform owner your tasks will cover: Create and update service manuals (up to +400 pages) and related service checklists in clear, concise English (simplified technical English) as well as convert information into clear and concise documentation by using text and illustrations. Gather, systemize and structure complex information from engineers and other stakeholders, including participation in service visits on site and climbing turbines (expected 10 travel days per year). Ensure both technical and HSE reviews on own service manuals and service checklists before releasing process of the documentation. What do I need to qualify for this job? You have a background that provides you the right mix of linguistic skills and technical insights. You have 3-5 years of experience in writing and managing technical documentation. Furthermore you must have experience with topic-based authoring, single sourcing, CMS or xml-based editing. You like working on long-term projects involving large-scale documents and you are used to work closely together with both engineers and service technicians (i.e. on site in wind turbines or similar operating machinery). You are structured and proactive in your work and approach to assignments, providing you an overview and the eye for high-quality. You have the ability to give good and constructive feedback to colleagues as part of the platform ownership. You are a great communicator, speaking and writing English, and you have the ability to cooperate and create networks with colleagues across the company.
