Vestas Blades/Tooling Tooling Equipment Engineer for Blade Manufacturing Tooling in Blades Production Engineering, is responsible for the development of manufacturing solutions for blades production for wind turbines, as well as prototype technology projects. The Tooling team is a project oriented team delivering both to new product developments and supporting our blades factories around the world during installation of new blade production lines, and during running production. The department is split between Lem (DK) and Isle of Wight (UK). Responsibilities: The engineer (or senior technician) will together with the team, be responsible for specification and delivery of all mixing and dispensing equipment used globally in Vestas Blades. Other aspects of the role are the review of supplier design solutions, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and finally hand over to production facilities. This role requires good coordination between supplier and the factory management team as well as the technical support teams. In addition there will be process optimisation tasks and continuous production support. The job will require traveling between Lem (DK) and Isle of Wight (UK) as well as to all our factories and tooling manufacturer around the world. Your work will primarily cover: Mixing and dispensing machines for composite processes (infusion, glue-dispencing and coat-dispensing machines) Working closely together with other engineers and specialists, technical designers and technicians across the organization to capture the necessary requirements for the equipment. Participating in technology development projects for development of the wind turbine blades of the future. Defining the design requirements for equipment solutions following a Design for Six Sigma philosophy. Verifying and validating equipment designs. Collaborating closely with external suppliers on equipment deliveries. Implementation and installation of blades production equipment all over the world Supporting blades production from a technical point of view as well as trouble shooting on site. Qualifications: You hold a bachelor (electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing, process, etc.) or equivalent education or work experience. You are attracted by an international environment with a high level of activity, and are keen to learn new skills. You can either be a newly graduated engineer or a candidate with some years of experience within some of the below: Practical experience with chemical metering and dispensing machines Experience with two component resins or adhesives, or similar chemistry. Basic understanding of electrical circuits Basic understanding of mechanical part like EL motors, pumps or flow meters Creating and understanding technical specifications Development and design of production equipment. Experience within an engineering company and the design and development process. Basic knowledge of CE marking and machinery directive requirements. Bachelor Degree in Mech. Eng. / Physics or equivalent. Find it easy to work with people in different global locations and from different cultural backgrounds. Prepared to work in a dynamic environment. Good communication skills in English, orally and written.
