If you want to help design the next generation of state-of-the-art digital components for use in Oticon’s market-leading hearing aids, then we have an exciting and challenging job for you. To develop the world’s best hearing aids, it is always necessary to adapt and optimize the IC components. That is why IC design is a core competence at Oticon. We deal with the newest IC technologies and we place emphasis on a professional and innovative working environment. Our new Digital IC designer will be a part of the “Silicon Engines” domain, which is responsible for designing and evaluating ICs for hearing aids in William Demant. The department consists of 56 people covering the competencies of analog & digital IC design, FW, and RF. The technical challenge: Testing and verifying of ultra-low power components In your new job, you will become part of Oticon’s Processor IC and Tool flow team, which is responsible for designing and developing the digital components for the different ICs used in the hearing aids in the William Demant Group. The team consisting of 11 designers and one team leader. The team also creates the tools and flows used in developing the ICs. The components you are going to help us develop are characterized by extremely low power consumption and high integrality, as well as they also need to be easy to produce in large volumes. To achieve this, we constantly push the technology to its limits and focus on smart design. You can look forward to being involved in all phases of validating our IC from defining validation strategy to implementing it either in house or at a sub supplier. The job therefore requires that you have good skills in a laboratory and ambition to develop ours. The team is responsible for delivering production ready IC and knowledge on one or more of test areas such as ESD, LU, HTOL, test automation, rtl verification, and writing HW test at driver level. From day one, you will have the possibility to be part of decision concerning our verification and setting direction based on your ideas and experience. Depending on your interests, you can take full responsibility for our IC validation, develop your digital design or your firm ware skills. Solid understanding of ASIC design Ideally, you have worked a few years in a business where the focus has been on developing test HW and SW. Being newly graduate is not a barrier if you are the hands on type with a small soldering project or raspberry pie project at home. You are familiar with the following: - HDL coding - Verification methodologies - Requirement gathering and writing technical design documentation for test boards and test setup - Experience with programming and scripting languages e.g. C, java, PHP, python preferable with a deeper understanding of Object Oriented Programming. - Working in a linux/unix environment is an advantage - Instrument setup and measuring with Agilent/Keysight & Rohde-Schwarz. Remote (over Ethernet) experience a plus. - Updating of tests code, test setup, documentation etc. - Flare for automation of tests.
