Would you like to contribute to a CO2-free energy future by reducing the cost of energy from offshore wind? Join us and become Electrical Engineer in the WTG Electrical department with a team of technical specialists in, for example, generators, converters, MV switchgears, MV transformers and LV auxiliary electrical systems in the tower, hub and nacelle as well as electrical interfaces for balancing plant in offshore wind farms. Throughout our value chain, the department covers everything from the qualification of wind turbine suppliers over wind farm development and construction to operations. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1,400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility You will be a member of a team of ten wind turbine electrical specialists who support the business in a number of areas, including technical business risk analysis, specification and negotiation of technical requirements and qualification of suppliers and their products. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •develop technical purchase specifications for the Group's requirements for wind turbine contracts, and develop and document standardised grid and electrical foundation interfaces •identify technical levers for the cost of electricity and drive them for implementation at stakeholders •perform technology assessment of new wind turbine platforms, technology and components •be co-responsible for product quality, and participate in FAI, FAT and SAT •support wind turbine installation and commissioning staff with electrical engineering expertise, and perform root-cause analysis in case of operating problems. Your profile You have a bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering. Moreover, you have experience within wind turbine technology. In particular, experience and competences within wind turbine design and verification would be considered as an advantage. You also have an interest in offshore wind power and have experience and knowledge of the relevant aspects of large wind power projects. Additionally, you are able to draw on extensive experience from a relevant position, where you have been working in a large project organisation.
