About the department An opportunity to join a high performing team in Novo Nordisk Pharmatech, developing and supplying novel materials for the purification of therapeutic proteins at Novo Nordisk. We work in close collaboration with our scientific colleagues at Novo Nordisk to develop optimal purification solutions for new and existing molecules used for the treatment of diabetes, haemophilia, obesity, and growth disorders. We are an ambitious team with an informal atmosphere and room to enjoy yourself while contributing to our goals. The job As an experienced technician within the team your key responsibilities will be the preparation of new chromatography resins, including ion exchange/mixed mode, immune-affinity and reverse phase, to improve current process and solve new protein purification challenges. You will carry out daily planning of your work, synthesis of key intermediates and resins, and analysis and evaluation of both the physical and functional properties of the final resins. You will record and report your scientific work and share your learnings with the team, project teams and other colleagues. Qualifications Educated as a laboratory technician (Laborant), ideally with at least 5 years’ experience. As an experienced technician you will also have extensive knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry and solid phase synthesis would be an advantage. You are a strong team player with a good understanding of the chemical sciences. You have good attention to detail and are conscious of working safety in the lab. You have experience of using IT and scientific equipment and have a broad knowledge of analytical techniques. You are dynamic, flexible and able to cope with change, dedicated to ‘making a difference’ and ready to ‘go the extra mile’ when faced with challenges.
