Then you may be the senior research scientist or specialist that we are looking for to fill the permanent position as expert in haemophilia bioassays in Global Research. The Global Research Unit specialises in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes. We also discover and develop new innovative biopharmaceuticals for haemophilia and growth disorders. Furthermore, we conduct stem cell and beta cell regeneration research and other early-stage investigations aimed at finding a cure for diabetes, as well as exploring novel treatments for obesity and long-term, micro-vascular complications of diabetes. The Global Research Unit consists of app. 1.500 highly qualified Scientists, PhDs/PostDocs and Lab Technicians and we conduct our world class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing and Seattle. About the department At Novo Nordisk you will work in the Department of Haemophilia Research Bioanalysis, part of Haemophilia Biology located in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen Area, Denmark. The department consists of 14 highly skilled scientists and laboratory technicians that support the discovery and development of new innovative biopharmaceuticals for treatment of haemophilia. The department´s main responsibilities are development and application of coagulation assays. These functional assays are used to evaluate the in vitro potency of novel drug candidates and for bioanalysis of plasma samples from animals dosed with the drug candidate. The job We offer you an exciting and challenging job in a scientific department, as well as in cross-functional project teams, where ambitious scientific goals require contributions from many highly specialised colleagues. As an expert in haemophilia bioassays you are expected to proactively contribute to the assay strategy and progress in the research projects based on your analytical results and your knowledge of haemophilia, coagulation assays and drug development. Your main responsibilities are to develop, qualify and apply plasma based activity analyses such as chromogenic assays or clot assays for potency estimation or for post-infusion monitoring of novel drug candidates. The laboratory work is performed in close collaboration with the skilled technical staff in the department. You will be responsible for transferring assays from research to development (CMC), and for supporting development projects on assay related issues. This requires stakeholder contacts across the organisation and contacts to external clinical experts. Scientific reports, presentations and papers are expected contributions. In addition, you may work with global haemostasis assays e.g. thrombin generation assays, and opportunities for coordination of biology activities in projects are dependent on qualifications and experience. Qualifications Professionally, you hold a PhD degree with more than 5 years post-degree experience in development and qualification of functional biological assays. The preferred candidate has a good understanding of haemostasis, a solid experience with clinical coagulation assays and with bioassays for potency estimation. Pharmaceutical industry experience with early drug development from idea to molecule is also highly valued. You have a strong analytical mind-set, and your thoroughness and curiosity makes you an excellent assay specialist. You are responsible and persistent, and you are able to ensure progress of many tasks at a time. Excellent communication skills, team working ability and the capability to work in an interdisciplinary environment are essential.
