The Head of Data Management position with Nordea sits within the Group IT function for our business; working closely with the Head of Data Engineering. The position we offer Group IT is responsible for the technology that is driving Nordea to make data one of the core assets in the Bank. Data is critical to our business and our customers. We harness the power of data to understand the needs of our customers, provide our customers with a true digital experience through all our contact points with them and tailor our products to best meet their needs. Data is also our primary ammunition in the fight against wrong doing and bad behaviour as it powers our defensive capability in Risk, Fraud and Financial Crime. Data Engineering are the team that are building the core Nordea data platform in collaboration with colleagues in business operations and other parts of Nordea Group technology. We are working to scale out the current Corporate Data Warehouse such that it becomes a general purpose platform that supports all of our business lines and help enable the Nordea simplification and digitalisation strategies. We are seeking a business savvy technologist with a solid background in technology transformation within financial services. You will understand the complexities of managing enterprise data across a diverse and fast moving financial services environment and be used to dealing with regulatory demand and deadline as well as legacy complexity. With a background in managing major change up to executive level, you will be aware of the data landscape that is being shaped by the BoE, ECB & Federal Reserve as well as the impending challenges being brought by the European Union. A financial services technologist by trade and education you will be familiar with legacy and big data platforms and have an interest in how Machine Learning can automate and improve the production of data in an enterprise. The terms Master Data Management, Operational Workflow and Data Quality will have given you professional battle scars and you will be a thought leader in how financial services can do a better job in addressing these challenges. The qualifications you need deally you have 10+ years working in financial services IT and some years of experience working in a management role. You will have operated in a Business Analyst or SME capacity in previous roles providing the key link between the internal client and IT. In addition, we expect you to have: • Experience in relationship management to effectively manage communications, conflicts, and negotiations, identify operational issues/risks, recommend and implement strategies to resolve problems, and monitor and measure client satisfaction •A genuine passion for data and the benefits that good data management can bring to an organisation •Experience of product management and delivery of technical platforms to support Data Operations. •Proven experience in working with in both Agile and Waterfall environments. Ideally certified. •Proven ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical teams. •Excellent presentation skills and verbal and written communication skills with technical, non-technical, end-user, and executive audiences. •Experience working in a Matrix organisation. Operating collaboratively with internal cross-functional and external global teams to develop strategies that meet business goals. Finally, excellent written and verbal English is essential for success in this role. Command of another European language an advantage.
