Senior Biogas Specialist for characterisation and development of household waste biogas processes

Would you like to be part of an exciting project aiming at recycling and changing household waste into sustainable energy? Join us and become a member of our R&D team in REnescience – a team of eight to nine dedicated colleagues. We develop, mature and sell technology for handling household waste and turning it into sustainable energy and recycling. Our ambition is to become one of the world's leading suppliers of technology in this field. We currently operate a major pilot and demonstration facility in the Copenhagen area. The department is part of Thermal Power, which has 900 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We own just below half of the thermal production capacity in Denmark and are at the forefront of the development within efficient use of biomass and reduction of the environmental impact through innovative biorefining technologies. You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As Senior Biogas Specialist, your key duties will be to: •document, develop and optimise the biogas production expected from the biodegradable fractions produced in our process •characterise and refine the outlet products for the anaerobic digestion process in order to remove contaminants and sustain nutrition of soil fertiliser value •design experiments mimicking a full-scale process •participate in the evaluation and development of methods for cleaning of outlet products in an industrial process •interact with suppliers of anaerobic digestion technology. Your profile You have a master's and a PhD degree in either chemistry, biotech or microbiology or a similar technical background. You have several years of experience and a proven track record in the field of biogas production. Experience within modelling and simulation of biogas processes and/or recirculation of water is an advantage. As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. You are a team player, proactive, systematic and persistent. Your communication skills are excellent, enabling you to communicate complex matters in a professional and straightforward way.
