Data is critical to our business and our customers. We harness the power of data to understand the needs of our customers provide our customers with a true digital experience through all our contact points with them and tailor our products to best meet their needs. Data is also our primary ammunition in the fight against wrong doing and bad behaviour as it powers our defensive capability in Risk, Fraud and Financial Crime. As a Data engineer you will develop, maintain, test and evaluate big data solutions within Nordea’s next generation Big Data Platform. Data engineering are also involved in the design of big data solutions matching Big Data capabilities to priority business challenges. The Data Engineer also builds and maintains application with cutting-edge Big Data technology to resolve complex business challenges. You should have extensive experience in software development with Agile methodology, continuous integration and automated releases. Experience in engineering (commercial or open source) software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures is a must. Key responsibilities include: - Building distributed and highly parallelized Big data processing pipeline which process massive amount of data (both structured and unstructured data) in near real-time - Leverage Spark to enrich and transform corporate data to enable searching, data visualization, and advanced analytics - Working closely with analysts and business stakeholders to develop analytics models - Continuous delivery on Hadoop and other Big Data Platforms - Automate processes where possible and are repeatable and reliable - Work closely with QA team, release engineers and Product Management to deliver software in a continuous delivery environment The qualifications you need We expect the ideal candidate to have extensive experience (3+ years) in Hadoop/Spark development and be a complex problem solver. Furthermore, you have: - Data driven thinking capabilities - Excellent communication skills and experience of distributed global teams - Solid grounding in Financial Service Experience with Spark Streaming and Kafka in large scale enterprise environment is highly desired. Experience of implementing data security capabilities such as encryption, anonymization is a big plus. You are skilled within: - Agile methodologies - Atlassian Suite: Bamboo, JIRA, Fisheye, Sonar, Git/Stash - Test framework: Robot, jMeter, jUnit, dbUnit - Configuration management: Puppets / Chef - Hadoop: YARN, Ambari, MR, Sqoop, Flume - Streaming technologies; Spark, Storm, Ni-Fi - Hadoop security: AD, Knox, Ranger, Kerberos, Sentry - Java, Scala, Python You will be joining a team in a highly international environment based in one of the Nordic capitals.
