Senior Firmware Developer for Oticon and Sister Company Collaboration

This position suits a highly skilled firmware developer, motivated by having a significant role in the development of a cutting edge, low power wireless audio streaming system. In addition, you can see the exciting challenge of combining this development aspect with system adaptation to fulfill the requirements of a sister company. Implementation and test of wireless protocol stack In your new position you will be a part of the Silicon Engines group. This group consists of 50 engineers and is responsible for developing chipsets for all Oticon hearing aids. You will refer to the Head of Chipset & FW and, along with our seven other firmware developers, be responsible for the hearing aid firmware. Adapting our technology to fulfill the requirements of a sister company will be a major area of responsibility for you. This means that you will be responsible for identifying requirements, developing, testing, releasing, and documenting according to requirements and plans, evaluating change requests and guiding local management concerning these. You keep a continual dialogue with your counterpart at the sister company and ensure a superb collaboration, assisting our sister company with wake-up and debug on site. You may expect some travelling. Your main tasks include: •Design, implementation and test of firmware, including adaptation of our technology to match the needs of our sister company as described above •Coordination of deliveries to our sister company •Requirements management towards our sister company •Support of wakeup and validation of HW prototypes, including on-site support Experience with embedded systems development We expect you to hold a relevant degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering. Furthermore, you have several years’ experience with development of embedded systems, either in-house or as a consultant. Either way, you enjoy working with collaborating partners. Furthermore, we are looking for the following competencies and experience: •Firmware development and verification •Wireless protocol stack development, implementation and adaptation, e.g. Bluetooth •Audio streaming •HW wakeup and debugging •Some project and/or partner management Should you have skills in C/C++ and simultaneous development of HW and firmware, it is an advantage. Moreover, experience with token based multicore systems and resource constrained systems would be advantageous. As a person you can make independent decisions but still enjoy being part of a team. You have an open mind and great communication -and interpersonal skills. This enables you to collaborate effortlessly with your primary stakeholders.
