About the department Device Research is an area within Device R&D responsible for creating and maturing ideas into new device concepts for treatment of chronic diseases within all business areas of Novo Nordisk. You will join a project team of highly skilled developers responsible for the development of a new generation of injection device to support current and future Novo Nordisk drugs. To learn more about Device Research & Development, please visit link: http://www.novonordisk.com/device-rd The position You will become a member of mechanical development team currently working on proving feasibility of new device concepts for further development. The work will consist of concept development, 3D design, analysis and prototyping of mechanical solutions, problem solving and testing in the lab and with users, reworking and retesting in iterative cycles. Your contribution will be in all of these areas which entails that your working day is dynamic and rarely the same as the previous. You will be given responsibility for one or more complex device functionalities and critical performance parameters. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders in defining the targets and deadlines, as well as acquiring needed support, for your areas of responsibility. Qualifications You hold a relevant academic degree with at least 10 years of experience within mechanical development, preferably within medical device development. You have extensive experience from working with mechanical design of plastic components and mechanism design. You master CREO or similar 3D modelling tool. You are skilled within mechanical disciplines like tolerance stack-ups, material selection as well as kinematic and structural analysis and able to determine the correct level of analysis considering the stage of the design. You are experienced in working with and interpreting incomplete, missing and conflicting product requirements and you consider all inputs when determining the right compromise. You thrive in working with an analytical and structured approach to understand and improve complex structures and systems and you are able to communicate results at all organisational levels. Proficiency in oral and written English is essential. You are a team player by nature with the ability to work independently with a result-oriented ‘can-do’ attitude. Defining and driving yours and others tasks by proactively taking ownership of your areas of responsibility falls natural to you. You are a strong finisher and take pride in delivering high quality results – on time.
